Auto Parts Manufacturer Bosch: Helping Safety and Environmental Protection

Robert Bosch, a world-famous auto parts manufacturer, demonstrated its leading clean diesel and active driving safety technology to the Chinese public at the Bibiden Challenge. The 18 vehicles equipped with the most advanced diesel systems and safety systems exhibited by Bosch set off an upsurge of “clean future and safe life” at the Shanghai International Circuit. As the main sponsor of the 2004 Shanghai Bibden Challenge, Bosch has carefully designed a number of activities for experts from the Chinese automotive industry, leaders of relevant departments, customers and partners of Bosch, and representatives of major domestic media. The guests had the opportunity to try and test 13 compact cars, SUVs, family sedans and luxury sedans equipped with Bosch's most advanced diesel systems, 10 of which were imported from Europe. At the same time, the Bosch undercarriage system demonstrated four cars equipped with active driving safety technology, the ESP (Electronic Stability Program), to allow test riders to experience the substantial improvement in the safety performance of cars brought by Bosch ESP, and How ESP will ensure stable vehicle operation under extreme conditions. A number of scientific studies have demonstrated that ESP can significantly improve the safety performance of vehicles, reduce traffic accidents by 50%, and effectively prevent skidding. Compared with its predecessor, Bosch's third-generation common rail system can effectively reduce exhaust emissions by nearly 20%, increase engine power by 5%, reduce fuel consumption by 3%, and reduce engine noise by 3 decibels. Bosch is proud that the Audi A83.0TDI has been available as the first diesel vehicle equipped with Bosch's third-generation common rail system, reaching the Euro 4 emission standard to be implemented in 2005.
