Although considered to be the most licensed brand of commercial smart devices in the industry, Volvo believes that one million units is just the beginning, and Volvo Construction Equipment helped the Volvo Group deliver 150,000 of the 1 million units.

Jens Ejsing, Managing Director of Volvo Construction Equipment Denmark, said at the ceremony: “Incorporating the big data technology ecosystem is very important to the success of our customers. As a high-end brand, we are working hard every day. High-end services help customers like GSV Materieludlejning improve the efficiency of Volvo equipment. We are proud to lead the industry with the highest quality connected equipment solutions."

“For us, interconnectivity means significantly improving safety, equipment uptime and fuel efficiency while reducing costs. This is also an important tool for us to help the world become better and achieve an ideal life.”

At the delivery ceremony on October 3, the equipment delivered included an EC220EL excavator, two EC250EL excavators and an ECR235EL excavator, all equipped with Volvo CareTrack® telematics management system. The system is capable of capturing thousands of device data points and is then remotely monitored by experienced technical experts at the Volvo Equipment Uptime Center. Technical experts use state-of-the-art analytics software to process massive amounts of data in real time and pass only the most important information back to customers and distributors.

Based on the collected big data, Volvo can help users and dealers predict the wear and tear of critical parts, plan maintenance and pre-prepare equipment spare parts, which can reduce user downtime and increase productivity. Combined with other Volvo Group's interconnect solutions – covering three different categories of trucks, buses, and construction equipment – the efficiency of the entire value chain is effectively enhanced.

Dan O. Vorsholt, CEO of GSV Materielundlejning, said: "We are very excited to be able to participate in this data revolution and experience the outstanding results of the first-class fleet management system. In order to achieve business success, we must pay close attention to all aspects of the details, so it is very important for us to be able to monitor the productivity of our equipment at all times."
