A few days ago, Chery Automobile received approval for the project of requisitioning land for investment in the construction of a vehicle production line for land acquisition and investment in the Xiaomeng Industrial Park of Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone. It is understood that the first phase of the project will achieve an annual output value of 4 billion yuan and a tax of 240 million yuan upon completion of production.
It is reported that the Chery Automobile Guiyang Bus Project will invest 1.2 billion yuan in the first phase, with 484 acres of land, and is scheduled to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2012. The second phase of the construction will further increase production capacity on the basis of the first phase, expand the product range of new energy vehicles, and reach 30,000 vehicle production capacities by 2020. The output value will exceed 10 billion yuan and the tax revenue will reach 1 billion yuan. It is expected to accumulate 10 billion sales in the first five years and 30 billion in sales in the second five years. With the increase in sales, the project will be able to stimulate more local business development.
The relevant person in charge of Chery Automobile stated that with the acceleration of urbanization, the construction of high-speed road networks and the upgrading of transport have become the main theme of cities across the country. The next 5 to 10 years will be an opportunity period for the development of passenger cars. Chery Automobile will also seize this opportunity. At present, the development and trial production of the 6100 series of diesel, pure electric and natural gas passenger vehicles has been completed. In the second half of this year, trial production of 7-meter series of high-end commercial vehicles, 12-meter series of Euro IV emission standard buses and tourist buses will also be developed. Various types of passenger vehicles will, on the basis of meeting the needs of Lugu Lake, radiate the market in the entire province and surrounding areas and gradually develop overseas markets.
