China's auto industry has taken shape in six points

The development of China's auto industry has now formed six major regions as the representative of the automotive industry cluster development trend. However, experts believe that from the perspective of industrial concentration, there is still a large gap between China's auto industry and mature automobile industry clusters in developed countries.

The six regions are: the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta, the Northeast, Beijing-Tianjin (Central Bohai Economic Zone), Central China, and Southwest China. These six regions have their own characteristics and advantages.

Yangtze River Delta. At present, Shanghai is China's largest production base for passenger cars. SAIC Motor Corporation has Shanghai Volkswagen and Shanghai GM two large-size car joint ventures and Shanghai Stock Car Company. Around it, there are also more than 50 world-class joint ventures in auto parts, as well as automobile trade and marketing, automotive logistics, automobile inspection agencies, etc. It is a multi-functional automobile integrated industrial zone in the country. Leading.

Pearl River Delta. Taking Guangzhou as the center, three major automobile production bases in Huangpu, Huadu and Nansha Development Zones are under construction. Guangzhou Automobile Group is the main body of the Pearl River Delta automobile industry cluster, and Japanese cars are mainly concentrated here.

North-east area. Jilin has one of the country’s three major automobile groups, FAW Group, Hafei Automobile Group in Heilongjiang Province, and Huachen Automobile in Liaoning Province, and BMW Brilliance BMW, a joint venture between Germany’s BMW and Huachen, is also located in Shenyang. In addition, the auto parts enterprises in Northeast China also have a certain strength. Jilin Province is also an important base for talent cultivation and scientific research in China's auto industry.

Beijing-Tianjin region (the Bohai Economic Zone). Beijing has now formed three major sections, Beijing Hyundai, Beijing Jeep and Beiqi Foton. Tianjin also has core auto companies such as Tianjin Toyota, Tianjin FAW, and FAW Xiali. At the same time, Tianjin has a large number of powerful auto parts companies, but also has the advantage of convenient transportation network.

Central China. Dongfeng Motor Group and many of its joint ventures are the main bodies of industrial clusters in central China. In recent years, they have successively conducted joint ventures and cooperation with Nissan and Honda, and the scale of Wuhan's auto industry cluster has begun to take shape.

Southwest Region. Chongqing owns China's largest micro-vehicle manufacturer, Chang'an Automobile Group, and other auto manufacturers such as the Chongqing Heavy-duty Truck Group. In the Northern New District of Chongqing, there is a plan to build a “Shili Motor City” with Ford sedans as the main body and integrated production, R&D, trade, and Expo.

It can be seen that China's auto industry cluster has begun to take shape in the above areas, and the six major auto industrial clusters have taken shape. The frequent reorganization of enterprises in the recent five years also increased the concentration of automobile industry.
