The report shows that during the quarter's complaints, the quality of important parts and components of automotive products still accounted for the vast majority of quality problems, and users’ concerns about safety increased significantly. Among the typical complaints, complaints about tire quality issues were prominent.
Wu Jie, director of the Automobile Complaint Department of the China Quality Association User Committee, told reporters that in the third quarter, 1705 cases of user complaints were received, of which complaints on safety issues such as tires and brake systems were prominent, accounting for 13.5%, ranking second only to the engine and Gearbox complaints. “Complaints mainly focus on automotive products with a price of RMB 50,000 to RMB 200,000,†Wu Jie pointed out. The problems reflected in tires mainly include punctured tires, bulging, and cracking. The time spent on car products reflecting tire problems was mostly in 2006. After June, mileage was mainly within 10,000 kilometers, and most of them were purchased within half a year and tires had problems.
The person in charge of the China Association for Quality and Cooperation warned that because tires are important components involved in safety, there is storage time according to regulations. When the owner chooses to purchase, he should pay attention to checking two aspects. One is to check the factory date, and the other is to check the appearance in time. Once the bulge and cracks are found, replace it in time to prevent explosion.
