How Emission Standards Continue to Upgrade Passenger Car Enterprises

As we all know, EU member states have implemented the Euro IV standard that is equivalent to the National IV standard in 2005 and will implement the Euro V standard in 2009. According to China's implementation of fuel upgrading, each upgrade has a difference of about three years, coupled with the current situation, it is estimated that the possibility of implementation of country V in 2010 is very high. At the same time, the carbon oxide must not exceed 1.0 g/km ( EU III standard is 2.3 g/km), hydrocarbons must not exceed 0.1 g/km (Euro III standard is 0.2 g/km), nitrogen oxides must not exceed 0.08 g/km (Euro III standard is 0.15 g/km), The standards for particulate matter must not exceed 0.025 g/km. The introduction of data metrics poses a great challenge for the Chinese automobile industry.

In the implementation of this policy, the earliest response was Beijing. From January 1 this year onwards, Beijing has officially implemented the National IV fuel standard, and on the 1st of March, it will implement the national phase IV motor vehicle emission standards in two phases. According to the author's understanding, Changsha is the first city to implement the standard within the shortest time since Beijing implemented the State IV. In this regard, we fully believe that oil, in the next two years, most of the country's urban vehicles will implement the national IV standard, and the national V standard will follow. This policy of continuous upgrading of fuel and emission standards will make the competition among bus companies more tragic.

Today's passenger cars are increasingly complex and changeable, and policies at any time will be detrimental to the direction of corporate development. This makes the bus industry, which has already experienced fierce competition, become more fierce. With the continuous escalation of emission standards, how is the bus company in China responding? The following analysis from several aspects:

First, seize the preemptive enterprise. Such bus companies have strong predictive power and keen observation on the government's policy trends. They can make correct estimates of market and policy trends and set out to deal with the pressures and risks at any time. Such bus companies are represented by youth buses and Huanghai buses. The author has noticed that at the beginning of 2007, the Yellow Sea was equivalent to Euro IV's National IV standard. The youth bus also started its own IV bus on the streets of Beijing during the same period. Such as Beijing's 601 Road, 425 Road, 645 Road and other buses.

Beijing is the first city in China to implement the national IV emission standard. Apart from its political and cultural status, the reason for this is because the 2008 Olympic Games will be held in Beijing. Imagine if Beijing’s streets were to be held during the Olympics. The lanes are still running buses in 2003 and 2004. What will happen to Beijing's environment and traffic conditions? We can completely predict that if there is no Olympics, Beijing’s implementation of the National IV Standard may not be necessary for several years at night. However, only forward-thinking bus companies can take advantage of the market. Youth and Huanghai Bus have demonstrated full confidence and forward-looking in responding to this policy.

Second, adopt new technologies and strive to increase engine exhaust emissions to meet national standards. This is also the basic mode of general enterprise development, that is, making continuous adjustments as the market changes. At present, powerful bus companies such as Yitong Sanlong occupy more markets because they have the financial resources, research and development strength, high-quality brands, and mature markets that other companies do not have. Therefore, they can support domestic and foreign companies. The supporting companies cooperate with each other and according to market requirements their desired products.

At present, China’s technological superiority on the engine gradually emerges, and the gap between the technological innovation of independent brands and foreign engines is not obvious. It is understood that from State III to State IV, two aspects of the engine need to be improved: first is to adjust the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) in the engine's electronic fuel injection system; the second is to add precious metal elements to the three-way catalytic converter as a car. Air purifier. Compared with those powerful engine companies, it is not very difficult to do these two things. Among them, Yuchai is the first to let its products meet the new standards set by the state; in addition, Weichai, Xichai, Shanghai Diesel, Cummins, etc. are also close behind, and rushed to the deadline for the completion of the product's technical updates. Dajinlong, Yutong, Golden Brigade, Suzhou Jinlong, Ankai, Zhongtong and other companies gradually transitioned to the State IV on the emission of products.

Third, open up new areas and continue to work hard and try new energy buses. Car pollution is already the number one enemy of the environment. Therefore, it is the responsibility of each bus company to reduce car pollution. Due to the continuous upgrading of emission standards, some bus companies are committed to the development of new energy buses. The most representative of these are hybrids, pure electric trams, hydrogen fuels, alcohol ethers, plant fuels, and other types of new energy buses. Zhongtong New Energy Bus, Dongfeng Xiangfan Electric Bus, CSR Times Electric Bus, Jinghua CNG Bus and Neoplan Train have achieved good results.

Currently. The number of new energy buses that attract the most attention are CNG hybrid buses. Beijing has reached more than 40%, and it is worth noting that Dongfeng will provide 320 zero-emission new energy buses for the Olympic Games. New energy buses will be a development direction for future passenger cars. Foreign countries such as Sweden, the United States, and other developed countries are also piloting; however, as new energy R&D needs support from many factors, only a small number of passenger car companies currently enter this field.

Fourth, smart marketing, to find a policy gap business. This approach to policy gaps is adopted by almost every company, but what kind of effect can be achieved, we cannot measure it with a fixed standard; but there is no doubt that this kind of marketing idea will solve the problem when enterprises face policy changes. The resulting pressure loss.

Beijing has taken the lead in implementing the National IV standard. However, based on the reality, the government is not able to let the passengers of the National III standard and below stop operating. It is only required that after March 1, 2008, the new vehicle that Beijing realizes to trade must meet the national IV standard. All previously unrecoverable passenger buses are operational. This provided bus companies with an opportunity to sell their buses in accordance with the national emission standards III before March 1. At the same time, by shifting the market focus, the National III buses are still advanced in other cities and provinces. product. Therefore, the escalation of emission standards can only make the bus industry temporarily in a state of tension. In the long run, it will promote the development of the bus industry.

Fifth, bus companies eliminated by the market. Since the development of the bus industry in China so far, few companies have been out of control due to government policies. Therefore, this situation can only be said to be a possibility.
