According to a report from the foreign news agency, Unipres Alabama Inc., a subsidiary of Unipres, recently acquired a plant of Yachiyo Industries in Steele, Alabama, USA, and plans to expand the capacity of the plant.
Jason Roberts, project manager for the Local Economic Development Board (SCEC), said that Yachiyo Industries hopes that its plastics manufacturing business will be closer to Kia's Georgia-based plant, while Unni needs to expand its stamping operations.
The Steele plant currently has a total of 225 workers. After the acquisition, Unni also plans to expand the staff size and will retain employees of the 8,000-generation industry.
