On October 28, Yunnan Yuntianhua’s new material project in the Changshou Economic Development Zone of the city, Lithium-ion battery separator, was formally put into operation. Chongqing will thus become the largest lithium-ion battery separator manufacturing base in the southwest region with the best technical specifications. Yuntianhua Chongqing R&D Center was established in Changshou.

Yuntianhua Group is a top three chemical company in China. It has successively laid out major projects such as fiberglass spun yarn and polyoxymethylene in the Changshou Economic Development Zone of the city. The total investment in the city is RMB 10 billion. The lithium-ion battery separator that was put into operation this time is a key material for new energy industries such as new energy vehicles. It has been monopolized by a few foreign companies for a long time. At present, more than 95% of China's imports depend on imports.
Yuntianhua Nuomi Technology started the research and development of the project in August last year. After 13 months of technical research, it successfully developed a diaphragm product that meets international standards. The listing of this product will break the market monopoly of foreign diaphragm manufacturers, greatly reduce the overall manufacturing cost of domestic power lithium batteries, and provide support for the rapid development of Chongqing's new energy industry.
The project will invest 160 million yuan in the first phase, with an annual output of 15 million square meters of high-performance lithium-ion battery diaphragm production capacity. On this basis, Yuntianhua will use 3-5 years to form an annual production capacity of 200 million square meters of lithium-ion battery separator. The annual output value will reach 2 billion yuan and the annual profit will be 1 billion yuan.
