China's first coal-fired gasifier successfully developed in Shanxi Province

After four years of research and development by the Shanxi Coal Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, it took 28 years for research and development. Recently, the first coal-to-liquids new gasifier with Chinese independent intellectual property rights and patented technology was successfully developed and will be put into use around July.

China's coal gasification industry previously relied mainly on foreign technologies. It not only introduced expensive equipment, but also had limitations on the use of coal. It could not fully meet the gasification needs of various coal resources in China. The first new type of coal-fired gasification furnace manufactured by the Research Institute of Shanxi Coal Chemistry Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Sinochem Second Construction Group Equipment Factory has passed the inspection of the Shanxi Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision to achieve the design target.

According to reports, the new type of coal gasifier with wide adaptability, low production and use costs, clean and pollution-free, and has the advantages of high utilization, low energy consumption, low oxygen consumption and other foreign technologies. The smooth delivery of the first gasifier symbolizes that this scientific research achievement has successfully taken a key step towards industrialization.
