British astronomers have calculated that there are "four arms" swirling from the center of the Milky Way, not "two arms."
According to the National Public Radio, the latest updated "arm" count comes from a 12-year galactic survey on massive stars, unveiling the galaxy's "four-armed" convolution. The short-lived stars do not have enough time to complete the drifting movement of the “arm†of the Milky Way, so it is convenient to mark the attachment of the Milky Way.
Together, they drew a very different galactic pattern from the galaxy. Until now, they have inadvertently cut off their "two-armed" renderings, restoring their true situation and "four arms" around.
