Cognex Introduces Entry-Level Color Vision Sensor

The DVT 535C comes with a complete set of easy-to-use visual tools

Natick County, Massachusetts, USA, February 13, 2007 - Cognex Corporation (Nasdaq NASDAQ: CGNX), the world's leading supplier of machine vision sensors, today introduced the DVT® 535C color vision sensor. Not only is the DVT® 535C the most powerful and easy-to-use sensor in its class, but with a complete set of vision tools, it sets a new price/performance standard for entry-level color vision sensors.

“Unlike most low-cost color vision sensors, the DVT 535C is not limited to performing a single machine vision task (such as color classification), but can be applied to a wide range of applications with the full range of color tools. Fields such as color classification, color matching and error detection," said Kris Nelson, senior vice president of the Cognex Vision Sensors division.

The DVT 535C is the lowest-priced family of DVT color vision sensors, and the entire DVT series includes high-speed and high-resolution products to meet the diverse performance needs of users. Like all DVT vision sensors, the 535C's operating software is easy-to-use IntellectTM, which makes setting up, integrating and maintaining the product easy and compatible with FrameWork.

Cognex also introduced the latest version 1.4 of Intellect software. The new version incorporates a number of enhancements, including a new FFD (Flexible Error Detection) tool that effectively addresses random errors in production and provides reliable inspection data. When the shape of the part is inconsistent due to register error, lens distortion and part variation, the FFD can effectively reduce the error of the detection result.

The DVT 535C vision sensor and Intellect 1.4 are available now.
