Development of a major scientific research instrument THz superconducting array imaging system

[China Instrument Network Instrument R&D] On June 30th, the National Key Scientific Research Instrument Development Project (Recommended by the Department) undertaken by the Purple Mountain Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences concluded the acceptance of the Terahertz Superconducting Array Imaging System in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.

The relevant person in charge of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the relevant person in charge of the Condition Guarantee and Finance Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the project acceptance expert group, the project supervision team, the financial acceptance team, the person in charge of the Zijinshan Observatory, and all the members of the project team attended the acceptance meeting. . The acceptance meeting was chaired by Dong Guoxuan, deputy director of the Science and Technology Department of the Fund Committee and head of the project management expert group.
In his speech, Yang Wei, Director of the Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Science pointed out in his speech that it is a rare experience for the National Research Institute for Scientific Research Instruments to undertake research and development projects and research teams. It is hoped that researchers will cherish the current era of strong science and technology from weak to strong, and concentrate on Studying and constantly creating new breakthroughs. He also emphasized that the inspection and acceptance work is a very serious matter. It is hoped that the acceptance group experts will carry out the review and assessment in a meticulous manner, and also hope that the Zijinshan Observatory project research team can complete the inspection and acceptance with a high standard.
The project acceptance expert group consists of 13 experts. Zhang Ze, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a professor at Zhejiang University, and Shen Zhiqiang, a researcher at the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, respectively serve as the team leader and deputy leader of the acceptance expert group. The expert group first heard a report from the project leader and researcher Zi Shengcai of the Zijinshan Observatory on the development of the “THz Hertz Superconducting Array Imaging System” project. The project is one of the nine national major scientific research instrument development projects (recommended by the department) approved by the State Fund Committee, and it is also the first project to be accepted by the fund's science and technology department. Shi Shengcai led the project team for 5 years and overcame the international leading edge superconducting dynamic inductance detector (KID) and superconducting phase change edge detector (TES) technology, and successfully developed a high-sensitivity 850 micron band 8×8 pixels. The 350 micron band 1024-pixel superconducting array imaging system is at the leading edge of the international class detector system. During the project development process, the project team applied for a total of 14 national invention patents and 4 software copyrights, and published a number of high-level papers. Through the development of the project, the Zijinshan Observatory has formed a distinctive and dynamic terahertz detector system development team.
The acceptance expert group also heard the report of the supervision team, technical test and acceptance report, financial acceptance report and file acceptance report. The technical testing, financial acceptance and file acceptance of the project were completed by experts from the fund committee from June 5th to 7th. Subsequently, the acceptance expert group and relevant leaders of the fund committee made an on-site inspection of the operation of the equipment. The expert group highly appraised the project development work and agreed that the project team has completed the project work and made outstanding progress.
Also participating in the acceptance meeting were Xie Xincheng, director of the fund's commissioned science and science department, Zheng Zhongwen, director of the Finance Bureau, and Meng Qingguo, deputy director of the Department of Mathematical Sciences, and Cao Ning, deputy director of the Bureau of Condition Protection and Finance of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The project relied on the director of the Zijinshan Observatory Deputy chief Changjin and so on.
