Misunderstanding 2: When the lubricating oil turns black, it is time to change the oil.
This understanding is not comprehensive. For lubricating oils that do not add clean dispersants, the darkening of the color is indeed a sign that the oil has been seriously deteriorated, but the lubricants used in Hyundai Motors are generally added with detergents. The detergent removes the adhesive film and black coke adhering to the piston and disperses it in the oil to reduce the formation of high-temperature deposits in the engine. Therefore, after the lubricant is used for a period of time, the color tends to become black, but this time The oil has not completely deteriorated.
Misunderstanding 3: Lubricants often add no change
Regular inspection of lubricants is correct, but supplementation without replacement can only compensate for the lack of oil, but it cannot fully compensate for the loss of lubricant performance.
